With Rendez-Vous Protocol, the Nodle Network acts as a regular communication network, enabling communication going back and forth between two endpoints. An Edge Node, or smartphone, getting within range of a target device can open an upload and download link using BLE and cellular or Wifi. It can act effectively as a secured channel, provide authentication and verification of the target device identity and protect the confidentiality of the communication.
It may happen that the targeted device is located in an area deprived of connectivity in which case it would be impossible to open both channels simultaneously. In such case, the 2-way works following the principle of delay-tolerant networking. In that case, Edge Nodes store and carry the data along, only to forward them whenever an opportunity to access the internet is available.
